Overview

This analyst is responsible for providing analysis, process management and control, and overall organizational support to assigned stakeholders within the Canadian procurement team.  The role is focused on providing both routine and ad-hoc support to the group, with primary responsibility for procurement support, but also support as directed to the other functional groups including project management and distribution. Through their analysis, such as food cost, as well and support of system accuracy, including pricing, they serve as an extension of the category managers to minimize cost of goods, while maximizing quality and service levels to Wendy’s restaurants across Canada.

The Wendy’s Company has formed a cooperative (Co-op) to provide supply chain services for all Wendy’s restaurants in North America.  Quality Supply Chain Cooperative, Inc. (QSCC) sources and contracts to purchase items and services necessary for the successful operation of a Wendy’s restaurant.  The Co-op (QSCC) is a separate corporation with governance oversight from an elected Board of Directors representing all franchisees and The Wendy’s US Company restaurants.  QSCC Canada reports to QSCC U.S and are considered Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada employees leased to QSCC - US.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis and coordination to support purchasing operations and procedures. 
    • Provide food cost, pricing strategy, risk management, and commodity input analysis.
    • Provide information collection, bid collection, and optimization support for RFPs.
    • Provide analysis, process, and organizational support to assigned stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely information flow/updates for confidential contract agreements, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and scope of agreement for products and services, (SOAs).
    • Maintain pricing and supplier details in appropriate systems on a monthly or quarterly basis.
    • Assist in food/paper/equipment/services cost planning and forecasting on a monthly basis or as needed
    • Support price verification by reviewing/approving/updating item specific data. Manages downstream activities where price verification requires correction. Accurately input and maintain pricing for assigned categories.
  • Support supply assurance efforts. In partnership with the category managers, develop and continuously maintain strategic supplier base information and key contacts.  Maintain and update contingency and transition plans.  Assist in monitoring new, existing, promotional and depleting inventories within assigned categories.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and delivering a supplier relations strategy.  Conduct thorough research and understanding of the Canadian domestic supply environment. Attend industry events, supplier meetings and business reviews to keep informed of the procurement and category-specific best practices.
  • Perform and execute against other projects and accountabilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain, with experience in procurement or category management preferred.
  • B.S./B.A. in Business, Economics, Supply Chain or related area strongly preferred. Masters in Supply Chain or related field a plus.
  • Strong Analytical/Problem Solving Skills.
  • Strong Communications Skills.
  • Strong Prioritization and Time Management Skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset. Demonstrates curiosity and critical thinking to help evolve ways of working.
  • Experience with MS Office, including strong Excel capabilities.
  • Experience with PowerBI or related analytical software.
  • Interested in growing a career in procurement, project management and/or supply chain.
